ICx Technologies names Dr. Martin U. Pralle General Manager
for Photonics Group 

Billerica, MA – January 22, 2008 –

ICx Technologies, a developer of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, announced today the appointment of Dr. Martin U. Pralle as General Manager of its Photonics business unit, effective Jan. 1, 2008. 

Dr. Pralle has been with ICx Photonics, formerly Ion Optics, since 2000. As vice president of engineering at Photonics, he led the development of products based on the core photonic-crystal micro-mechanical emitter technology, which he has been involved with since its inception.  Photonics’ products, including the MarkIR™, SensorChip CO2™, CO2 4P and the TunIR™, have applications in combat for the identification of  friend or foe, industrial gas sensing, and medical devices for breath analysis.

“Dr. Pralle’s knowledge and significant contributions have been invaluable in expanding the product offerings of ICx Photonics,” said Dan Manitakos, president of ICx Technologies’ surveillance division.  “His leadership skills and commitment over the last seven years have demonstrated that he is the right person to lead the Photonics group as they introduce their new technology to existing and emerging markets.”
